Lviv Polytechnicians and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erfurt started cooperation in 2016. To strengthen it Vadym Ovcharuk, Director of Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic College, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Heiko Schüler, Director of FAV Service GmbH, a non-profit company registered in the German city of Gotha, with the participation of Denys Nevinskyi, Director of the German-Ukrainian Educational Center, Lviv Polytechnic, signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions.
The document states: «In the conditions of rapid technological, professional and social development in Europe and the world, the partners intend to provide young people from Ukraine with internships in Thuringia, to start professional training in relevant specialties under German education laws and / or supplement their profession in Ukraine with an additional training or employment based on it. This will be an active contribution to the support of young program participants and the enterprises of Thuringia, and at the same time the future provision of Ukraine with qualified personnel».
The cooperation agreement between the College and FAV Service GmbH is a powerful stimulus for the educational sector of the whole Khmelnytskyi region. This was discussed at online meetings with the participation of the signatories of the document, Directors of Colleges in the region and students of Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic. Vadym Ovcharuk, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the region’s higher education institutions which train junior bachelor’s students, informed region’s educators that within the framework of the agreement a Regional German Educational Center would be established on the basis of Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic College. Every student of the region will have a great opportunity to use the services of the Center and apply to the program.
