The last meeting of this year was about retraining and certification of personnel, defended doctoral thesis and changes in the rules of admission campaign.
The meeting started with congratulations. Besides awarding the best students, teaching staff and researchers, Lviv Polytechnic received the certificate from Bureau Veritas Ukraine, which proves the fact that the quality management in University meets international standards.
After listening to Vice Rector for Scientific Research Nataliia Chukhrai speaking about training and certification of personnel, the council members came to the conclusion that University has all the prerequisites to train scientific and pedagogical staff. However, candidate’s and doctoral thesis are not defended in all the Institutes in accordance with the established schedule; in some Institutes the number of postgraduate and doctoral students has decreased. Nataliia Chukhrai also spoke about the awarding of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
Changes in the admission campaign will concern the period of document submission and creative contests in the IARCH. The EIT certificates will be valid for the last three years, and foreign language certificates – for two. There will be more specialities for master students, who will have to pass EIT from foreign language. The military and children from families where there are more than five children will have privileges during the admission campaign. Mykhailo Honchar, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, informed about these changes.
