A semi-industrial hydrogel dressing line for wounds and burns will be launched on Monday. Currently, several thousand dressings will be produced from the stocks of raw materials.
These dressings were developed by a research team led by Professor Volodymyr Samaryk, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies.
By the end of 2021, they managed to mount the line and perform preclinical trials. All this was done at the expense of the state budget and with the assistance of Main Directorate for the Implementation of Policies in the Field of Science and Innovation, the Directorate of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Education and Science.
In 2021, the first positive feedback was received from the use of dressings in medical practice, and their certification was carried out. The size of the dressings can be adjusted at the request of doctors.
Hydrogel dressings, depending on medical needs, can be conventionally sterile or already contain a drug.
