The annual international forum «Ecumenical Social Week» was held in Lviv on October 3–7, 2022. The main theme of the forum was «Travelling Identity: Understanding Meanings and Values». For five days, representatives of the authorities, mass media, social organizations, churches, and education reflected on the concept of traveling identity in various dimensions and the values that Ukraine and the world live by during the Russian-Ukrainian war. The event was organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies, the Ukrainian Catholic University, and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Ukraine.
The International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, supporting this initiative, which is especially relevant today, organized and held a panel discussion within the framework of the forum «Challenges of Identity in Times of War. IDPs, Migrants». It took place on October 7 in the Zachariewicz Hall, the main building of Lviv Polytechnic.
The speakers of the discussion were Oleksii Pozniak – Candidate of Economic Sciences, senior researcher, head of the migration research sector of the Ptukha Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Myroslava Keryk – Candidate of Historical Sciences, chairman of the board of the Our Choice Foundation, employee of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Svitlana Odynets – Candidate of Sciences in Social Anthropology, migration researcher, journalist; Yaroslava Khortiani – member of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian World Congress, head of the UWC Membership Committee, head of the Ukrainian Cultural Association in Hungary; Bishop Stepan Sus – Bishop of the Curia of the UGCC Supreme Archbishop, titular bishop of Zigris, head of the Pastoral and Migration Department of the UGCC; Mykola-Myroslav Petretsky – politician, member of the Romanian Parliament, president of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania; Iryna Kliuchkovska – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Director of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event was moderated by Oksana Piatkovska, Deputy Director of IECDR.
