On January 13, 2022, the Ukrainian satellite SICH-2–30 was launched from the SpaceX launch site in the United States using the Falcon-9 rocket carrier.
The Sich-2–30 satellite is designed to obtain digital photos of the Earth’s surface in the visible and near-infrared range: 0.51–0.59 microns (green), 0.61–0.68 (red), 0.80–0.89 (near IR) and 0.51–0.90 (panchrome).
In addition, the satellite will be used to monitor the magnetosphere. The lifetime of the satellite is three years.
– AOS MSU signal processing equipment was installed on this satellite as part of Multi-Spectral Scanner MSU-M, which is the payload of the spacecraft and transmits images of the Earth’s surface. The AOS MSU equipment was developed, manufactured and tested at the ELVIT Research and Design Institute for Electronic Measuring and Computer Techniques, Lviv Polytechnic National University, – said Viktor Tkachenko, Chief Designer, Director of the ELVIT Research and Design Institute.
