Due to the help of the IT company Sombra, a new educational laboratory was opened at the Department of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) in the 4th academic building of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The Sombra IT company purchased equipment for the new educational laboratory, including computers (the cost of one is 30,000 hryvnias), as well as a modern multifunctional interactive whiteboard with a projector. In addition, cosmetic repairs of the room were carried out at the company’s expense, the doors and floor were replaced, furniture was purchased, and in general, cozy and comfortable conditions were created for students to study.
«This is a very pleasant event for us, because the computer company Sombra found an opportunity and resources to help Lviv Polytechnic in such a difficult time. I want to express my gratitude to you for that. Our joint success is to train high-class specialists. Therefore, from Sombra’s side, this is a contribution to the future, because the students who will study here can later work and develop this IT company or another, which they choose to work for», said Yurii Bobalo, rector of Lviv Polytechnic, during the official opening of the educational laboratory.
The First Vice-Rector of the University, Professor at the CAD Department Oleh Matviikiv also expressed his gratitude to the Sombra IT company for creating a new educational laboratory and expressed hope that in the future the cooperation between Lviv Polytechnic and the IT company will be more and more fruitful.
«In many EU countries, as well as in the USA and Japan, the research of new developments of certain companies takes place in the universities with which they cooperate. Hopefully together we can also grow to the level when Sombra and other companies will bring some of their research stuff to these labs and co-develop new products. This would be an impetus for even greater professional development of our academics, researchers, postgraduate students and master’s students», added Oleh Matviikiv.
