A free online course for veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war will soon be launched in the Lviv region, during which defenders will be able to acquire basic knowledge on the development of territorial communities. The event was initiated by representatives of the Norway-Ukraine project.
– Just a year ago, the decentralization reform was completed in Ukraine and, in fact, the united territorial communities began to take care of the development and prosperity of subordinate towns or villages. However, very often the leadership of these communities, including ATO participants, face difficulties in the process and do not always know how to develop a strategic community development program and projects, including social ones, that would meet this strategy, – said Tetiana Shapovalova, project manager, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic. – That is why the Norway-Ukraine project, which offers training in the Strategic Development of Territorial Communities, aims to train future project managers who will be involved in the development of communities in which they live.
The project is implemented by Lviv Polytechnic National University in partnership with the New Society of Ukraine with the financial support of the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, the International Foundation for Social Adaptation and the budget program of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
Leading specialists in technologies of territorial community development technologies, including scientific and pedagogical staff of the University, will be involved in the training of ATO/JFO veterans for the next three months.
– The educational process will be organized in a hybrid format, ie online classes in combination with Sunday field schools in Lviv, – continues Tetiana Shapovalova. – Participants will be able to gain knowledge of the legal aspects of community development, community resource management skills, development and financing of strategic programs and projects. In our opinion, the innovative course in this professional program is technologies of analyzing space information in projects of territorial communities, which students will get acquainted with at the Zolochiv Center for Space Research and Communication of the National Center for Space Management and Testing, the State Space Agency of Ukraine.
It should be noted that servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – members of the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation, as well as veterans and members of their families can join the training.
