The first Algorithmic Leo Camp 2021 for pupils and students has already started in Lviv. Training and final competitions will be held at Lviv Polytechnic National University until August 21. The event is sponsored by the international IT company GlobalLogic.
Training and coaching of teams is underway. Later, they will fulfill the tasks and analyze the algorithms and data structure. The final stage is the AlgoLeo Cup 2021, which will take place on Saturday, August 21. Teams will compete for the Lion’s Algorithmic Cup, as well as receive special prizes from GlobalLogic.
– Algorithms are the key to success in IT. That is why holding such a school is extremely important, – said Nataliia Shakhovska, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Founder of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems, Lviv Polytechnic.
– We strive to create a favourable environment for young professionals’ development. With the support of business and organizations, we give students the opportunity to practice. They gain fundamental knowledge and then apply it. The organization of such events is a significant step in improving the quality of IT education in Ukraine and self-realization of young people, – said Andrii Pavliv, Director of Lviv Conference Bureau.
Teams of students from institutions of higher, professional, vocational or secondary education take part in the competition. Teams must consist of 2–3 participants. If desired, they can be accompanied by a coach.
– In team competitions, young professionals enlist the support of colleagues and mentors, and therefore are more interested in the process and work with algorithms. Participants share experiences, communicate with like-minded people and receive advice from experienced experts. Thus, they learn better and become more confident. We are excited to be part of an iconic IT education event. It is possible that these boys and girls will soon create technologies that will make our lives safer, more comfortable and interesting, – commented Ihor Kostiv, Associate Vice President at GlobalLogic.
