On November 3, 2020, at an online briefing Andrii Vitrenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, informed about the results of the admission campaign of persons from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Sevastopol) and Donbas via the educational centers «Crimea-Ukraine» and «Donbas-Ukraine» in 2020.
Since the beginning of the Crimea-Ukraine and Donbas-Ukraine educational centers, the number of entrants from the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas to Ukrainian higher education institutions has doubled. If 1,008 students were enrolled in 2016, in 2020 there were 2,026. At the same time, in order to ensure the safety of entrants in the ranking lists and orders for enrollment the surnames were encrypted.
The following higher education institutions have become the most popular for entrants via Donbas-Ukraine educational centers:
- Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University (180 persons),
- National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» (141),
- Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (118).
The most popular universities for entrants via the educational center «Crimea-Ukraine»:
- V.I.Vernadsky Taurida National University (64 persons),
- Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University (34),
- Lviv Polytechnic National University (23).
Andrii Vitrenko said that according to the Unified State Electronic Database on Education and the results of the admission campaign via the educational center «Crimea-Ukraine», the highest competitive score was 191,454, and via «Donbas-Ukraine» – 200.
