An international seminar Workshop on Piloting Experience Exchange was held in Uzhhorod on 17–20 February 2025. The event was dedicated to the exchange of experience in the field of tutoring and mentoring. It was held within the framework of the PROMENT project «Promoting professional education and students engagement through comprehensive mentoring and tutoring system at HEIs», funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
The employees of partner universities from Ukraine, Georgia, Italy, Austria, Poland and Portugal, as well as business partners, including Lviv and Chernihiv IT Clusters and representatives of NGOs, attended the seminar.
The participants actively shared their experience of implementing tutoring and mentoring programmes at their universities, discussed topical issues and shared best practices.
Key topics of the seminar:
- The role of tutoring and mentoring in increasing student engagement and success;
- Variety of tutoring and mentoring programmes;
- Challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of such programmes;
- Best practices of tutoring and mentoring.
At this important event Lviv Polytechnic National University was represented by:
- Oleh Matviikiv, PROMENT Project Coordinator, First Vice-Rector;
- Nataliia Bokla, Head of the Tutoring and Mentoring Centre, who presented the Centre’s activities and its role in the first piloting programme at the regional level, and shared the experience of implementing mentoring and tutoring programmes at Lviv Polytechnic;
- Oksana Lisohor and Nataliia Plekan, specialists of the Tutoring and Mentoring Centre, who got acquainted with the methods of implementing mentoring practices from the PROMENT project partners;
- Vasyl Ivanyna, Assistant at the Department of Computer-Aided Design, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, a mentor who shared his own experience of mentoring and the specifics of working with students during the first piloting programme.
The University is especially proud of the students who bravely shared their stories of mentoring and tutoring:
- Mykola Baliuk, second-year student, the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences, the Department of Applied Mathematics;
- Halyna Fedkiv, second-year student, the Institute of Law, Psychology and Innovative Education, the Department of Practical and Theoretical Psychology.
