The quality of education, provided by the College of Technology at Lviv Polytechnic National University, is focusing on modern directions of development of the IT industry. In the field of network technologies for the Internet, the educational institution cooperates with the world leader – Cisco and has established a branch of the Cisco Networking Academy
This year, the leading universities of Ukraine and Cisco Academy launched the Io TStep by Step 2020 initiative for students and academic staff. The initiative lies in students’ courses, academic staff training both remotely and on the equipment, as well as conducting hackathons.
In the first stage, students of the College of Technology under the guidance of instructors took a course «Introduction to the Internet of Things» at the Cisco Networking Academy. Following the results of the stage, the College took the second place and won the main prize – the educational construction set Makeblock mBot v1.1.
The University College of Technology received a Certificate from Cisco Academy, as well as the prize itself – as a symbol of current trends in the IT industry: the Internet of Things, Robotics, Systems and Internet Programming, Big Data and Computer Network Administration. Each student who successfully completed the Introduction to IoT course also received a personal certificate from Cisco.
There are 6 network devices connected to the Internet per person in the world. There is a lack of specialists, so the initiative continues.
