The second stage of technical negotiations with the European Commission on the conditions for Ukraine's joining the Horizon Europe - European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021-2027) and the EURATOM Research and Training Programme (2021-2025) took place.
Preliminary dates for consultations and formal negotiations were set at the meeting. In particular, the discussion of the preliminary text of the Agreement and the third stage of technical negotiations are planned for March-April 2021. The beginning of formal negotiations and procedures for joining the programme is scheduled for autumn 2021.
Transitional conditions will apply to Ukraine when joining the new framework programme. That is, Ukrainians will be able to participate in Horizon Europe and Euratom competitions from the beginning of their official launch.
The European Commission stressed that Ukraine has a high potential in the field of research and innovative solutions. Therefore, Ukrainian participants will receive all possible support tools within the Horizon Europe programme.
Active involvement of Ukraine in the projects of the Horizon Europe and Euratom programmes will promote the implementation of priority areas of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities in Ukraine.
