Project Office, Lviv Polytechnic, is pleased to announce that our University has won another Erasmus+ project.
The project Strengthening Digital Skills in the Water Sector of Higher Education (DIGISKILLS) received funding under the Strand 2 of the Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBC). The project consortium consists of 9 universities from Norway, Moldova, Serbia, Romania and Ukraine. Among them there is Lviv Polytechnic National University (ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE-STRAND-2, partner role). The project coordinator is the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Norges miljø- og biovitenskapelige universitet).
This year, the competition and quality of the proposals submitted to the competition has increased significantly. In particular, only 14 projects from Ukraine (consisting of 65 organisations) received funding. The total number of supported CBHE projects in the world in 2024 is 151. A total of 972 project proposals were submitted.
The DIGISKILLS project aims to apply digital technologies and innovative teaching methods in the field of water technology education. The project will use the best practices of EU member states in the digital transformation of water education, including the modernisation of the education system in the field of water technology training and the acquisition of better competencies by students in this area. It is planned to purchase modern equipment and software to improve the level of the educational process and the quality of higher education. In addition, it is planned to create simulations of a number of laboratory works for visualisation, in particular during independent study of theoretical material and preparation for laboratory classes.
The implementation of the project will improve the quality of education and the competitiveness of water sector professionals in the labour market in Ukraine. The project is especially relevant given the deteriorating situation with the provision of quality drinking water to the population of Ukraine, especially in the areas that were in the zone of hostilities caused by Russian aggression.
The academic manager of the project at Lviv Polytechnic is Professor Zenovii Znak, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Substances, the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies.
We congratulate the entire team on their victory and wish them successful project implementation and new achievements in their future project activities!
