On July 15, 2019, the solemn opening of the XIІ International Summer School of Ukrainian Studies «Step to Ukraine» was held at the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
This year students from Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic will study here. At the opening they got acquainted with the team of the Institute.
In her welcome speech Iryna Kliuchkovska, the IECDR Director, stressed on the importance of plunging into Ukrainian speaking environment of Lviv in order to improve the knowledge of Ukrainian.
As always, there is a varied program for the students of the School, which encompasses an intensive Ukrainian language course, excursions, workshops, theatrical performances and movie watching.
After opening, students wrote a test to determine the level of proficiency in the Ukrainian language and attended the introductory lesson. Finally there was an acquaintance evening, which everybody loved. Ahead there are 2 weeks of laborious work, which will surely bring good results.
