On October 4, 2022, a public lecture on the topical issue «The European Green Deal: Opportunities and Threats for Ukraine» was held online by Andrii Andrusevych, senior analyst of the Resource & Analysis Center «Society and Environment».
At the lecture, the speaker focused on the importance of the European Green Deal for both the EU and Ukraine (the formation of a new type of society), highlighting the problems on the way to the implementation of the Green Deal which arose in the context of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine (the so-called decarbonization war).
More than a hundred participants, including students of various specialties, teaching staff, postgraduate students, participants of the EUSTS project from the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities, the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Department of Electromechatronics and Computerized Electromechanical Systems participated in the event. A well-known international scientist – Professor Teresa Astramowicz-Leyk, the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, who is currently undergoing an internship at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, and is a specialist in human rights, EU regional policy and local self-government, also took part in Andrii Andrusevych’s lecture. In 2021, Professor Teresa Astramowicz-Leyk was the organizer of Młodzieżowy Sejmik Klimatyczny in Olsztyn in 2021.
The event was held within the framework of the project «European studies for students of technical specialties at Lviv Polytechnic National University» (EUSTS), which is implemented with the support of the EU Erasmus+ programme, Jean Monnet Activities (a series of public lectures by speakers).
