The Project Office, Lviv Polytechnic National University, offers you to pay attention to the grant competition «Onsite digital technologies to monitor nutrients and chemical or biological stressors in soil and plants with relevance for food safety and nutrition» within the Horizon Europe program.
The goal of the competition is to create new opportunities in the use of local digital tools (for example, artificial intelligence and remote sensing) to monitor nutrients, trace elements, chemical and biological stressors in soil, plants and, subsequently, in food products at various stages of the production process. The results of the program are expected to reduce food safety risks, as well as improve risk management potential at various stages of food production.
Activities envisaged by the project:
- development of innovative digital technologies, including research modeling, calibration and forecasting for the detection of food substances and trace elements, chemical and biological contaminants that affect the quality and safety of food products;
- promotion and/or development of digital technologies and applications for the determination of soil parameters in the field relevant to food and nutrition safety, aimed at improving soil management practices (e.g. targeted fertilization, soil rehabilitation);
- identifying problems by expanding existing digital technologies related to the relationship between soil and food.
Total budget: €12,000,000.
Application deadline: September 20, 2023.
