On January 21–24, 2026, the 5th International Scientific Symposium «Sustainable Development – State and Prospects» (SDEV’2026) was held at the Polytechnic-2 Recreational Camp (Slavsko, Lviv region, Ukraine).
The organizer of the Symposium is the Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, Lviv Polytechnic National University. Co-organizers are:
- Public organization «Institute for Sustainable Development and Circular Economy»;
- Public organization «All-Ukrainian Ecological League»;
- National Center The Baltic University Programme.
The event brought together over 100 researchers from various regions of Ukraine, including representatives of the academic community, public organizations, expert circles, and local authorities. Over the course of four days, participants presented scientific papers and engaged in discussions on current challenges and future prospects for sustainable development in Ukraine and worldwide.
The Symposium was solemnly opened by Professor Sviatoslav Kniaz, Doctor of Economics, Director of the Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, who emphasized the importance of sustainable development as a strategic vector for the future of Ukraine and the world.
The following speakers addressed the participants:
- Iryna Yaremchuk – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Lviv Polytechnic National University;
- Oleksandr Moroz – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Tourism, Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development;
as well as leading researchers who have made a significant contribution to the development of this field and international cooperation: Zoriana Dvulit, Liudmyla Babak, Tetiana Kobielieva, Petro Pererva, Olena Pavlenko, Anzhela Hrylitska, Nataliia Habchak, Olena Boiarova, and Liudmyla Bezuhla.
The Symposium was held in an atmosphere that encouraged open dialogue and inter-institutional collaboration, fostering the exchange of experience, and the development of a shared vision for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine.
Following the results of the Symposium, an electronic collection of materials was published, containing scientific reports of the participants, analytical materials and developments that will be useful for further research and practical implementation of the principles of sustainable development.
All participants of the event received personalized certificates confirming their participation in the Symposium and contribution to the development of scientific research in the field of sustainable development
