On March 12–13, 2019, Viktoriia Hoisan, the sociologist of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations at Lviv Polytechnic National University, took part in the workshop on Research in Analytical Centers: Developing Its Own Researches and Analysis of Qualitative Data, which took place in Kyiv within the framework of the Platform for Analytics and Intercultural Communication. The event was organized by the Institute for European Politics (Berlin) in cooperation with the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation (Kyiv), the Initiative for the development and research of analytical centers «Think Twice UA» (Kyiv) with the support of the Federal Foreign Office in Germany.
The workshop was conducted by Alexandra Koidel, a postgraduate student of Berlin Graduate School for Global and Transregional Studies at the Free University of Berlin, and Sebastian Hoppe, a research fellow at the Institute for East European Studies at the Free University of Berlin.
On the first day, the workshop participants focused on the preparation of analytical materials, in particular the principles and design of research and the quality writing of analytical materials.
The next day, software for the collection, organization and work with research literature was presented, as well as high-quality research methods and tools for data analysis were discussed.
