Despite the full-scale war and the energy crisis, the sphere of Ukrainian intellectual property continues to show steady growth.
Thus, in the first half of 2024, the number of applications and registrations of industrial property rights increased. A total of 16723 applications were filed during this time, which is 9.4% more than in the same period last year.
During the first half of 2024, the most active among national legal entity applicants were organisations operating in the field of education – 74.7%, research and development – 13.4%, and only 11.9% of applications were in other fields.
Among the higher education institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the most active in the reporting period were:
- Vinnytsia National Technical University – 66 applications;
- National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» – 48;
- Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University – 46;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University – 45;
- National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine – 44.
