On 19 November 2024, the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic, together with the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, Doctoral Students and Young Scientists, the IHSS, held an international seminar «Peculiarities of organizing the research work in universities of Ukraine and Poland».
Twenty-five participants from different universities in Ukraine and Poland, including Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Zaporizhzhia National University, Odesa Polytechnic National University, Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, Taras Shevchenko Humanitarian Pedagogical College of Uman, Cherkasy Regional Council, National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic», Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, the Republic of Poland, and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, attended the event. The participants exchanged experience in organising the scientific work of students and teaching staff, and discussed the role of the supervisor in conducting research of students and methods of encouraging students to work on research. They also considered how to raise the level of research in qualification works, the issues of academic integrity in the context of widespread use of artificial intelligence, etc.
The seminar participants were addressed by Professor Yaryna Turchyn, Doctor of Political Sciences, Director of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic National University. She stressed the importance of developing the scientific work of students and academics, as the scientific work is one of the important forms of the educational process. Yaryna Turchyn also moderated the international seminar.
