The Spanish National Research Council has released the January edition of the Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) 2021.
The ranking provides Web indicators for more than 31,000 universities worldwide, including 316 Ukrainian. The aim of the Ranking is to improve the presence of the academic and research institutions on the Web and to promote the open access publication of scientific results.
The January edition (2021.1.0) is built with the following ranks:
- Impact – a combination of the number of external hyperlinks to the university domain and the number of domains from which these links come (share – 50%);
- Openness – the number of files available on the university website in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint, indexed by Google Scholar (share – 10%);
- Excellence – the number of scientific articles published by the University authors in journals indexed by Scopus, and is part of the 10% of articles most cited in their scientific fields, according to Scimago Group (share – 40%).
According to the updated results of the ranking, the three leaders among Ukrainian universities are Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Sumy State University.
Lviv Polytechnic National University ranks 10th. However, it should be noted that in terms of Excellence, our University is the second in Ukraine.
