On 4 April 2025, the Department of Theory of Law and Constitutionalism, the Institute of Law, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University, held the Fifth International Scientific and Practical Conference on Independence of Ukraine: Human Rights and National Security, which was attended by well-known foreign and Ukrainian researchers and practitioners in the field of national security and human rights. About 100 participants from Ukraine and foreign countries, including Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy and France, attended the event.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss topical scientific and practical issues related to the encroachment on Ukraine’s state sovereignty, national security and human rights violations in connection with the full-scale military invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, as well as to formulate proposals for the restoration of violated human and civil rights and the recovery of Ukraine’s economy.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss topical scientific and practical issues related to the encroachment on Ukraine’s state sovereignty, national security and human rights violations in connection with the full-scale military invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, as well as to formulate proposals to the restoration of violated human and civil rights and the recovery of Ukraine’s economy.
The conference participants were welcomed by Professor Vitalii Kovalchuk, Doctor of Law, Head of the Department of Theory of Law and Constitutionalism.

The organisers hope that the speeches of the distinguished conference participants at the plenary and sectional sessions and discussions, as well as conference proceedings will contribute to Ukraine’s victory in the war against the terrorist state of Russia, ensuring national security and protection of human rights in Ukraine.
