The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine together with partners will hold the first international Drone Hackathon. The main goal of the hackathon is to develop new solutions in the field of military-tech for the production of drones.
Design engineers, radio engineers, drone operators and programmers who work with Python, Java, R, C++, Tensorflow or those who are engaged in Embedded development can take part in the hackathon competition. You can apply both as a team and independently.
The Drone Hackathon will consist of two parts. The first is remote work on the challenges that the teams will receive after registration. The second part will take place offline in the city of Kyiv from August 26 to 29, where the participants will finalize their joint solutions and present them to the jury. The event participants will receive exclusive Drone Army merch, and hackathon winners will receive cash rewards.
«The development of military-tech is our priority for the coming years. It is important for the state to support startups that produce drones, deal with cyber security and develop military technologies. I am sure that due to the development of this direction, more startups will appear. That will make our army one of the most technological in the world. And such hackathons will contribute to the development and motivation of specialists to develop and scale their ideas», said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine implements the Drone Hackathon together with the Ukrainian Startup Fund, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukroboronprom State Concern and IDI Camp.
Applications for participation are accepted until August 23.
