To the attention of Lviv Polytechnicians: The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with Grammarly have announced the launch of a new pilot project aimed at improving the level of English among students and teachers of Ukrainian higher education institutions. Starting from the next academic year, Ukrainian higher education institutions will be able to join the programme and get free access to Grammarly for Education for six months.
- Programme goals and opportunities
Grammarly is a company based in Ukraine that develops a communication assistant based on artificial intelligence. Its product is designed to improve communication in English, helping more than 30 million users worldwide every day, including more than three thousand educational institutions, among which there are leading US universities.
The project aims to provide Ukrainian students and teachers with access to advanced tools to improve their English language skills. Grammarly for Education offers comprehensive support that goes beyond correcting spelling and grammar mistakes.
- The service includes:
– Recommendations for improving the clarity, conciseness and tone of texts;
– Explanations of the service’s strategic recommendations to help improve writing skills;
– Additional features based on generative artificial intelligence that can be optionally enabled by administrators of educational institutions;
– Automatic citation generation and plagiarism detection.
Grammarly is committed to the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The company has also developed an AI for Students course that provides students with guidance on how to use generative AI technologies responsibly.
The HEIs that join the pilot project will receive free access to Grammarly for Education for six months, starting in the 2024/2025 academic year. To prepare teachers, a special training on product implementation will be held in September. The date and time of the training will be announced in August.
