On August 14, Professor Yurii Bobalo, the University Rector, met with Cyrus Shani, the President at Canada College, and Yarko Golovko, a representative of Royal Bank Canada, at Lviv Polytechnic.
They discussed the possibilities for establishing and developing cooperation between Polytechnic and educational institutions in Canada. Some interesting suggestions were made by the Canadian guests, in particular, on the attraction of international students and joint educational programmes.
Mr. Cyrus Shani suggested, among other things, that his firm can fund several month internships for teachers who will be involved in these programmes. The Canadian side is interested in international students training in several areas, including IT, management, social work and pedagogy.
Nataliia Hots, the Head of the Center for International Education, and Iryna Kliuchkovska, the Director of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, also participated in the discussion.
In the future, they agreed to hold several meetings to discuss concrete steps for the possible implementation of these programs at Lviv Polytechnic.
