At the time when Ukraine has been resisting the armed aggression of the Russian Federation for more than a year, the Ukrainian economy is showing impressive resilience, which allows the intellectual property sector to recover and develop.
In the first half of 2023, there was a significant increase in activity in the field of intellectual property, which indicates a tendency to gradually return indicators of activity in the field of intellectual property to pre-war indicators.
During the first six months of 2023, there were submitted more than 15,000 applications for industrial property. If we compare the indicators of the first half of 2022 and 2023, the total number of submitted applications increased by 51.2%:
- inventions – 16.2%,
- useful models – 70.5%,
- industrial samples – 29.7%.
- trademarks according to the national procedure – 55.5%.
The following applicants were the most active among higher education institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in the first half of 2023:
- Vinnytsia National Technical University – 113 applications;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University – 54 applications;
- Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University – 52 applications;
- State higher educational institution «Kryvyi Rih National University» – 46 applications;
- National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» – 39 applications.
