On 14 December, 2025, a discussion titled «Between Universities and Culture – Today and Tomorrow» will be held as part of the 4th Cultural Congress «Connection_Breakup» at the Main Post Office building (1 Slovatskoho St., Lviv).
- What are the experiences of inter-university interaction in Lviv for training specialists in the field of culture and creative industries?
- How do educational institutions, public and private, respond to the needs of the industry, the context of the Russian war against Ukraine, and the process of European integration?
- How has Lviv’s participation in the application process for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030 influenced relations between its universities?
- What is and what can be the place of culture in the inter-academic environment, in curricula and relations between participants in the educational process?
- Are the city’s academic communities ready to unite to strengthen educational and cultural capabilities?
The following speakers will deliver speeches:
- Nataliia Shakhovska, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, head of the consortium for monitoring and evaluating Lviv’s application for the 2030 European Capital of Culture;
- Roman Hladyshevskyi, Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv;
- Vasyl Kosiv, Rector of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, member of the consortium for monitoring and evaluating Lviv’s application for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030;
- Iryna Matsevko, Rector of the Kharkiv School of Architecture;
- Ihor Pylatiuk, Rector of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy;
- Father Dr. Bohdan Prakh, Vice President of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
The conversation will be moderated by Antin Borkovsky, journalist, political analyst, member of the Lviv City Council’s Committee on Culture. The event will start at 14:00.
