Six student teams from the region competed for the first place in the Social Einstein project competition. This is an annual project competition for students majoring in social studies in the Lviv region. It was started by the charity organization «Diya.My» in cooperation with the Children’s Service of the Lviv Regional Military Administration and Lviv Polytechnic National University.
In total, 11 teams representing four higher education institutions of Lviv region applied for participation in the competition. In the final, 6 teams presented their projects. The topics are related to real problems and issues: the creation and development of social services, an information campaign to popularize the profession of social work specialist and barrier-free living in communities.
Each team had to fulfill all the requirements of the organizers: presentation, relevance, reality of implementation, presence of a goal, task, results and risks, as well as effective use of funds. In addition to the scholarship, one of the winning projects will be implemented.
According to the decision of the jury members, Lysychky (Foxes) team of students of the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Lviv Polytechnic National University, received first place, the assistance in the implementation of the project and 15,000 hryvnias. They submitted the project «Communication measures to popularize the foster family service in Brody territorial community», which is designed for one community and involves the use of modern communication tools.
Second place went to No Surprise team from the Department of Psychology, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. They will receive a prize of 10,000 hryvnias. Third place and 5,000 hryvnias goes to Mary Richmond team from the Department of Pedagogy and Social Work, the Ukrainian Catholic University.
The competition does not end here, as the charity organization «Diya.My» together with its partners will involve active students in trainings in Project Management and Communication in order to finalize the projects and start implementing the best one in the summer of 2023. 100,000 hryvnias have been allocated for the project.
