Last week, the Institute of Economics and Management, Lviv Polytechnic, hosted the Summer Business Camp School 2022 for students of the Small Academy of Sciences. Almost all departments of IEM took part in the event.
The camp began with an acquaintance training. According to Roksolana Vynnychuk, the coordinator of the Summer School, Associate Professor at the Department of Human Resource Management and Administration, this training was aimed not only at introducing participants, who, by the way, were almost 50 people, but also to find common interests and form the basis of a community of stakeholders. The training was fun, dynamic and vivid, the participants managed to find common ground and create a positive atmosphere for further work.
After the training, the work of the camp continued at the Department of Finance, where participants took part in a master class on financial life hacks and competed for the victory in the competition «How to become a millionaire?». Associate Professor Iryna Lashchyk, Professor Vitalii Rysin and Associate Professor Petro Viblyi worked with children at the Department of Finance.
At the Department of Management and International Business, the camp participants together with Associate Professor Nataliia Duliaba got acquainted with the relevance of the educational program «International Economic Relations» and took part in a workshop on «What is it like to be a diplomat?»
Olha Vysochan, Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting and Analysis, spoke about the specialty Accounting and Taxation, the demand for the accounting profession in the Ukrainian and international labour markets, and the reality and prospects of this profession. Students of the Summer School also took part in the smart-quiz «Accounting and Art», which resulted in the awarding of the best teams. The Department of Business Economics and Investment, represented by Associate Professors Olena Zahoretska, Olha Myshchyshyn, Oksana Musiiovska and Professor Orest Koleshchuk, conducted associative tests and an economic game for the camp participants.
Together with the Department of Foreign Trade and Customs, the participants passed the test «Are you able to be a manager?» and played in Kahoot. The teenagers loved the most the simulation business game Market Leader, which was conducted by Mariana Ruda, Associate Professor at the Department of FTC.
The last day of the camp was the busiest. The participants not only took part in another interactive economic game, which was conducted by Oleh Karyi, head of the Department of Management of Organizations, but also met with the student government of IEM and tried their hand at planning events from the trade union bureau.
The highlight of the camp was an excursion to the Assembly Hall of the main building of Polytechnic and the solemn presentation of certificates.
The Summer School ended on a patriotic note: a moment of silence for the victims of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the performance of the anthem of Ukraine.
