From November 19 to November 30, 2018, the teachers of the Transport Technologies Department of Lviv Polytechnic National University, Associate Professors Mykola Zhuk and Volodymyr Kovalyshyn, were trained according to the SmaLog project at Roma, University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy).
According to the internship program, the staff of the Transport Technologies Department have increased their knowledge and skills:
- Transport simulation by the software «PTV VISUM»;
- Bus network service and operations planning;
- Principles and practice of forecasting: time series analysis; artificial neural networks; applied predictive modelling;
- Urban goods movement: overview, measures and plans;
- Urban freight transport modelling: quantity, delivery and vehicle O/D matrices;
- Logistic costs and mode choice;
- Transport and land use interaction: models and practical applications;
- Practical applications on transportation demand and supply-demand interaction;
- Practical applications on urban goods demand;
- Applied time series analysis and forecasting with R;
- Practical application of cost- benefit and financial analysis of intermodal freight nodes.
According to the results of the internship, the University’s staff received the corresponding certificates.
