The Museum of Science and Innovation will be open in Lviv on April 5. Its exposition will be supplemented by exhibits from the Museum of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Museum of Interesting Science in Odesa. There will be about 100 exhibits, all interactive. Scientific shows, master classes, workshops and scientific seminars are organized for children. The visit to the Museum will be free during martial law.
According to the team of Tech Startup School, Lviv Polytechnic National University, which is arranging the Museum, some of the exhibits from Kyiv were to be transferred to the city of Mariupol, but they will be temporarily in Lviv until the end of hostilities.
«During the war, they will definitely be in Lviv. Earlier we agreed with Oksen Lisovyi, the Director of the Small Academy of Sciences, to transfer some of the exhibits to Lviv, because they planned to renovate their museum and bring new exhibits of science», – told Zaxid.net Nazar Podolchak, the Director of Tech StartUp School and SID City Science, Lviv Polytechnic.
Due to the fact that the Small Academy of Sciences has temporarily suspended visits to the interactive space in Kyiv due to hostilities, the following exhibits are being transferred to Lviv: a magnetic bridge, a table with puzzles, mirror writing, 3D noughts and crosses, the game «Tie a string», «One face for two», «Transparent computer», «Chair with nails», square wheels, magnetic liquid and wall optical illusions.
The University Tech Startup School has also prepared part of its own exposition: Newton’s cradle, da Vinci Bridge, interactive sandbox, interactive floor with 100 games, human torso, expositions of architectural objects of Lviv’s cultural heritage made of plywood.
«Children and adults will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibits in the fields of IT, bio- and modern technologies, physics, robotics, electronics, and Smart Cities. The museum will also house research laboratories for children and young people, where you can create your own experiment under the supervision of specialists, learn about chemical processes and have fun», informed Tech Startup School.
The opening will take place on April 5, 2022 at 7 Sichovykh Striltsiv Street. According to the organizers, the visit of the Museum is free of charge subject to registration until the end of hostilities.
The museum will be a good opportunity to distract and entertain children during the war, to involve them in the study of science in a non-standard and interesting interactive way. The Museum needs support to complete all the work.
