On October 10-12, Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Computational Intelligence and Smart Systems (CISS-2024), organized by the Department of Automated Control Systems (ACS), the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies. The co-organizers of the conference were Comenius University Bratislava (Slovakia), Lodz University of Technology (Poland) and University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna (Austria).
Professor Vasyl Tesliuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Automated Control Systems, welcomed the participants. He noted that the subject of the scientific meeting is relevant and covers research in a wide range of fields of science and technology and drew attention to the fact that such a conference is held for the first time and is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the ACS Department.
Thematic directions of the Conference
- Methods and means of computational intelligence
- Methods of computational intelligence in smart systems
- Neurofuzzy methods of controlling robotics systems
- Methods and means of managing a smart enterprise, a smart home, a smart city
- Augmented and virtual reality in smart systems
- Security of smart networks
- Methods of computational intelligence in medicine
The topics of the conference sections are related to the Erasmus+ projects of Jean Monnet Module, which are being implemented at the ACS Department, including AR4EDU, TrustAI, and DataProEU).
At the plenary session guest speakers: Ricardo J. Rodríguez (University of Zaragoza, Spain), Maryam Nasser (Kingston University, United Kingdom) and Gordon Hunter (Kingston University, United Kingdom), presented modern research in the field of data mining and smart systems.
The section that dealt with projects and developments in the field of computational intelligence and smart systems, which was opened by Andrii Kravchuk, co-founder of the volunteer organization Help a Hero, arose great interest.
The conference included a workshop on the Application of Computational Intelligence, where the reports on computational intelligence, modern computer technologies and the development of smart systems were discussed in more detail, and practical developments in this area of research were presented. The participants discussed topical issues of information technology and smart systems, analyzed current research and prospects for the development of these areas. This contributed to the development of cooperation between the invited guests, speakers and attendees of the event.
It is planned that the conference will become an annual event in the future.
