The Project Office of Lviv Polytechnic invites University researchers to apply for the competition «Tools for modeling, optimization and planning of the energy system» of the Horizon Europe programme.
The project aims to create customizable models of open source energy system components, as well as tools for assembling individual components into an energy system model that integrates infrastructure related to all energy sources in the selected geographical area with static and dynamic modeling capabilities.
The developed open source tool will allow better planning and optimizing the development of renewable and low-emission energy sources as well as improving infrastructure (including storage) to meet future energy needs in the geographical area, minimizing overall investment and operating costs, and thus to satisfy future end-uses of energy (sometimes as raw materials) by consumers at the lowest cost and with the best quality of service.
The purpose of the project proposal is to better plan and optimize the expansion of energy production, transmission and storage systems to meet (future) energy needs aggregated at the level of detail.
The budget is 55 million euros.
