It is a good tradition for the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, to hold meetings with the representatives of Ukrainian World Congress to strategically plan and coordinate further joint steps to unite Ukrainians abroad and in Ukraine.
On February 4, 2020, IECDR held a meeting with Pavlo Sadokha, Ukrainian World Congress Regional Vice-President of Northern, Southern and Western Europe, Chairman of the Association of Ukrainians in Portugal.
They discussed issues related to the development of Ukrainian education abroad, in particular the creation of a professional educational environment, as well as the formation and development of Ukrainian Studies at leading universities in Europe. Pavlo Sadokha outlined priority plans for the UWC in this area and told about the challenges of the Russia’s hybrid warfare that Ukrainian communities are facing abroad.
They also discussed the importance of Biennale «Ukrainian Language in the World: regress or progress?» as a platform to unite and create an environment of experts from different countries to promote the Ukrainian language in the world as a factor of soft power.
