On September 26–29, the V International Congress Sustainable Development: Environmental Protection. Energy Saving. Sustainable Environmental Management was held in Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The event was organized by Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development. The purpose of the Congress is to gather experts on sustainable development – environmental, economic and social – to exchange the ideas, discuss trends in sustainable development, make directions and plans for further researches, establish fruitful relations etc.
– We paid the most attention to the environmental component, as we consider it is usually left out of attention. There were delivered reports on various innovations in environmental technologies and the possibilities of their application... I believe that the Congress was successful, we achieved our goal and the participants were satisfied, said Professor Myroslav Maliovanyi, the Head of the Department of Ecology and Sustainable Environmental Management and the organizer of the event.
Scientists from Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Moldova, Slovakia and Austria came to Lviv Polytechnic to share their experience and get a new one. The total number of participants, who attended the Congress, is 118, 16 of which are foreign representatives and 102 – from 47 universities of Ukraine.
