The course on startups and entrepreneurship, which lasted for students from September 14 to December 21, 2023, ended at Lviv Polytechnic National University.
On the initiative of the IT company Vector Software and under the guidance of Christian Vig, a business expert from Oslo, the students plunged into the world of startups.
- Christian Vig is a mentor and investor, part of the Vector Software team, specializing in the combination of business models and technologies, with a special interest in B2B, edtech, corporate learning and development.
- Vector Software is an international IT software development company founded by Ukrainian and Norwegian professionals that brings together the best intellectuals around the world to create meaningful and effective solutions.
This course has become a real laboratory for creativity, innovation and learning entrepreneurial skills. Students not only gained new knowledge, but also took part in pitching their ideas, during which each team demonstrated its concept to the jury and received valuable recommendations.
Recently, the term pitching has become as popular as the term startup. Pitching is a business plan that is orally presented to potential business investors. The startup owner must clearly explain the business opportunity to the investors so that they can find the most suitable solution.
Lectures and pitches
Every week, the participants attended Christian Vig's lectures, where they received knowledge and insights about the creation and development of a successful startup. During practical pitches, the teams presented their ideas to a jury, which included Christian and other university teachers. It became not only a great opportunity to demonstrate their achievements, but also to receive constructive feedback from experienced specialists.
1×1 sessions
Christian paid attention to individual sessions with each team, thoroughly analyzing their ideas. During these sessions, he asked difficult questions, provided guidance, and steered teams in the right direction. This personal approach enabled each student to focus on their strengths and weaknesses and improve their own projects.
Participants and teams
71 students who joined the course made up 7 teams. Each of the teams (CQTeam, Diverso, ESPRIT, UniqueLess, Shaggy Beavers, Pattern Hunters and RoboTek) worked on unique ideas and improved their startups during the course.
Final and victory
The last lesson of the course was dedicated to the final pitches, where each team presented its project.
This course became a source of theoretical knowledge, practical experience and teamwork to achieve successful results.
