Lviv Polytechnic National University, the Ukrainian Nuclear Society and the State Enterprise «National Nuclear Energy Generating Company «Energoatom» invite 9–11 grades schoolchildren to take part in the All-Ukrainian Essay Competition among schoolchildren «Nuclear Energy and the World» 2023, which is organized and conducted by the public organization Ukrainian Nuclear Society and the state enterprise NNEGC «Energoatom» with the participation of specialized institutions of higher education, in particular, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The competition aims to ensure:
- involvement of schoolchildren and youth in deepening and popularizing knowledge about nuclear energy, and nuclear physics;
- support of gifted youth who seek to expand their outlook on the nuclear industry in Ukraine and the world;
- promotion of effective career orientation work with schoolchildren regarding the choice of a profession in the energy sector.
Participants of the competition can be 9–11 grades schoolchildren (an exception is also grade 8), young people from lyceums and gymnasiums who are interested in various aspects of studying nuclear physics and nuclear energy and seek to reveal their creative thinking skills.
You can submit individual works in the form of an essay or research paper, which reflect the findings of the author’s analysis or research on the chosen topic.
The competition will take place in two stages:
- The first stage (qualification) will be held till May 31, 2023 at Lviv Polytechnic National University; to participate in the competition, each student must send his competition work to the 1st stage organizers to the e-mail address ttae.dept@lpnu.ua till May 20;
- The II stage (final) will take place both offline and online in September-October 2023 in the city of Kyiv.
To participate in the II stage (final) of the competition, the 1st stage organizers send three best works to the regional competition committee till September 1, 2023. At this stage, the jury determines the winners, who receive:
- winners who received 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places – diplomas and valuable prizes;
- in the category of additional encouragement – certificates and valuable prizes;
- the rest of the participants of the II stage of the competition – certificates for participation and commemorative gifts;
- supervisors of competitive works, who prepared the winners of prize places – a Thank You Award and commemorative gifts.
