The international activities of the Department of Management of Organizations are one of the key areas of its development and integration into the global scientific and educational space. The department actively expands cooperation with foreign universities, scientific institutions and international organizations, contributing to improving the quality of education, academic mobility of students and teachers, as well as the development of joint scientific projects.
International conferences and scientific events. The department organizes international scientific and practical conferences on the topic of innovation process management in Ukraine, which have become a traditional platform for scientific exchange between researchers, teachers and business representatives from different countries. On May 16-17, 2024, the Department of Management of Organizations successfully held the anniversary X International Scientific and Practical Conference "Management of the Innovation Process in Ukraine: Tasks during the War and in the Period of Post-War Reconstruction". This large-scale event brought together over 100 participants from Ukraine and other countries of the world, who joined forces to discuss topical issues of innovative development in the context of military challenges and post-war reconstruction. The conference was attended by representatives of 11 universities and scientific institutions from 6 countries of the world.
During 2023-2025, within the framework of the implementation of the international educational project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet 101085171 – EEPHCT – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH “European experience in the promotion of heritage and cultural tourism”, the Department of Management of Organizations organized a number of international scientific and practical conferences aimed at exchanging knowledge, experience and best practices in the development of the tourism industry, cultural heritage and sustainable tourism management, in particular the international scientific and practical conference “Challenges for the tourism business in Ukraine: European practice” (May 4-5, 2023; May 15-16, 2025) and the international student scientific and practical conference “Prospects for the popularization of historical heritage and cultural tourism in Ukraine: experience of European countries” (May 11-12, 2023; May 9-10, 2024; May 1-2, 2025).
Academic mobility and participation in international programs. The Department of Management of Organizations actively supports the academic mobility of students and postgraduates, facilitating their study and internship at leading European universities within the framework of international educational programs – Erasmus+, NAWA, DAAD and other grant initiatives. During 2021-2025, students who represented the department at universities in Poland, Germany and Spain became participants in international mobility programs:
- student Marechko Oleg underwent training at the Aschaffenburg University of Technology (Germany) within the framework of the DAAD grant program "Student trip of a group of foreign students to Germany in 2021". During the trip, the participant got acquainted with the German business environment and modern approaches to enterprise management;
- student Mazurak Hanna studied at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (Spain) under the Erasmus+ KA1 program (2022-2023). The program included studying the disciplines of international management, intercultural communications and organizational change management;
- student Shypa Sofiya studied at the Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland) under the Erasmus+ KA1 program. The results of the program contributed to the improvement of professional competencies, the development of language skills and the formation of international experience in the field of management;
- 2024 became one of the most active periods of international mobility of students of the department. In total, six students completed studies or internships abroad:
- Myhalchyshena Viktoria - studies at the University of Gdańsk (Poland) under the Erasmus+ KA1 program;
- Shypa Sofiya – continued studies at the Wroclaw University of Economics under the Erasmus+ KA1 program;
- Zinchenko Anastasia – studying at the Silesian University of Technology (Poland) under the NAWA program;
- Kondyrevych Maria, Stopets Oksana and Chopyk Julia – participating in the 2nd GTUA-EDU Summer School on “Green Transformation” at the Wroclaw University of Technology, implemented within the framework of the NAWA program.
The teachers of the Department of Management of Organizations actively develop international cooperation, participating in academic mobility programs, international projects, internships and study visits to European universities. The main forms of international activity of teachers are internships, giving lectures at foreign educational institutions and participation in international scientific and educational initiatives. The teachers of the Department regularly undergo short- and medium-term internships at leading European higher education institutions (Krakow University of Economics and Wroclaw University of Economics, Poland). Such programs are aimed at exchanging pedagogical experience, improving teaching methods and improving the level of academic English. The results of the internships are deepening cooperation with Polish partner institutions, development of joint educational materials, and initiation of teacher exchanges in the Staff Mobility format.
The department's lecturers are actively involved in giving lectures to students of foreign universities within the framework of international mobility programs. In 2023, the department implemented a number of the following events:
- Prof. Oleksandr Druhov – a series of lectures on international management and strategic management at the Krakow University of Economics and the Wroclaw University of Economics (Erasmus+ KA1);
- Assoc. Prof. Solomiya Ohinok-Kopylchak – lectures on organizational behavior and modern approaches to management at the Wroclaw University of Economics;
- Assoc. Prof. Tetyana Harkhalis – lectures on personnel management and change management at the Wroclaw University of Economics.
- All speeches were given in English, which contributes to increasing the international visibility of the department and the integration of its educational programs into the European academic space.
The department's teachers are active participants in international initiatives and research programs aimed at developing innovative approaches to management, training personnel for post-war reconstruction and digital transformation of business. Participation in Erasmus+ projects in the KA1 direction (Staff and Student Mobility) and preparation for participation in Jean Monnet programs.
Participation of foreign guest lecturers and visiting professors in the educational process of the department. The Department of Management of Organizations actively cooperates with foreign lecturers who were involved in conducting classes, trainings and workshops for students:
- Guest lecturers, in particular Eray Aydin (Kastamonu University, Republic of Turkey), Adam Pavlicek and Omar Ameir (Moravian College of Business, Czech Republic), conducted distance and face-to-face courses on project management, behavioral management and innovative management technologies. As a result of the cooperation, the curricula for project management and organizational behavior were updated, and training modules were developed for the department's teachers;
- researcher Bohdana Kurylo (Prague Institute of Economics, Czech Republic) conducted distance learning lectures on the topic of European labor market management in 2022. Based on her courses, recommendations were developed for adapting European practices to Ukrainian realities, and a series of seminars were held for students and teachers;
- lecturer Eugenia Strano (Mania Grec University of Catanzaro, Italy) conducted two cycles of classes in 2023-2024 on sustainable financing and biodiversity conservation;
- professor Fabio Converti (Vanvitelli University, Italy) implemented a number of short-term distance and face-to-face courses in 2024, dedicated to tourism, cultural heritage protection, and sustainable development of territories. The cooperation contributed to the introduction of practical cases and field trips to study the region's tourism potential into the educational process;
- researcher Serhiy Maksymovych (Prague Institute of Economics, Czech Republic) conducted several courses on quantitative methods, statistics, and economic analysis (2019, 2021, 2023). His work contributed to the modernization of the "Statistics" course, the development of new laboratory tasks using modern data analysis software;
- lecturer Nataliya Moroziuk (Royal University of Technology, Sweden) in 2023 conducted a distance learning course on European practices of community development management. Based on the course, a series of workshops were organized for representatives of local communities and students of the "Management" specialty.
International scientific and educational cooperation. The Department of Management of Organizations of Lviv Polytechnic National University actively develops international scientific and educational cooperation. The department's teachers are leaders and participants in numerous international projects aimed at integrating Ukrainian higher education into the European and global scientific space, developing innovative activities, sustainable development and supporting educational reforms. In particular, the department has implemented and is implementing the following international educational projects:
- Trainings for internally displaced women, “Development of modern skills for Ukrainian women”. Head: Assoc. Prof. Maryana Gvozd (05/23/2023 – 07/15/2023).
- The German Federal State Agency for Educational Research (DAAD) program “OER with Ukraine Informatics”. Head: Prof. Nataliya Chukhray (01/01/2023 – 12/31/2023).
- The ERASMUS+KA1 program “Academic mobility for teaching and training, for students of LPNU with Wroclaw University of Economics and Business”. Head: Prof. Oleksiy Druhov (01.12.2022 – 16.05.2027).
The head of the department, Prof. Nataliya Chukhray, led/implemented the following collective scientific topics and projects from Lviv Polytechnic:
- an international educational project jointly with Wroclaw Polytechnic under the NAWA program on the topic “Green Transformation of Ukrainian Universities” (2023-2024). The project results were the development of sustainability standards for HEIs together with the NAZAVO;
- international educational projects funded by the BALDACINI Foundation (2023-2025).
- head of three international scientific projects of Lviv Polytechnic:
- HORIZON-CL2-2022-HERITAGE-01-07 (AURORA), Project ID: 101094245, “Artwork Unique RecognitiOn and tRacking through chemicAl encoded data, miniaturised devices and blockchain alliance” (2023-2025);
- HORIZON-INFRA-2024-DEV-02 (RIFF), Project ID: 101215656 “Research Infrastructures for the Future of Ukraine: Roadmap for Sustained Growth and Recovery” (2025-2028);
- EAGER: IMPRESS-U: Resilient Engineering to Advance Public Value and Innovation in Research Periphery Countries, funded by the American Academy of Sciences (2025-2028).
Also, the head of the department, Prof. Nataliya Chukhray was the executor of the following individual international projects:
- under the DAAD program on a project in partnership with Leibniz University (Germany) on the topic “Management of Internationalization and German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation 2020-2021”. According to the results of this project, Prof. Nataliya Chukhray developed and implemented the Internationalization Strategy of Lviv Polytechnic until 2025
- under the DAAD program under a project in partnership with the Technical University of Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF) (Germany) in 2024. As a result of this project, equipment for recording video lessons was purchased for Lviv Polytechnic, using which Prof. Nataliya Chukhray recorded 15 video lessons (in English) on the discipline "Academic Entrepreneurship" for postgraduate students.
The department's employees, Prof. Oleh Karyy (head), Assoc. Prof. Ihor Kulyniak and Assoc. Solomiya Ohinok-Kopylchak during 2022-2023. implemented an international collective scientific project of the international program Visegrad Grants of the International Visegrad Fund (Visegrad Grants) No. 22130195 "Cooperation in promoting a cultural and heritage tourism destinations in Ukraine and V4 countries" / "Cooperation in promoting a cultural and heritage tourism destinations in Ukraine and V4 countries".
During 2022-2025, the department's employees Assoc. Prof. Ihor Kulyniak (coordinator), Prof. Oleh Karyy, Assoc. Prof. Solomiya Ohinok-Kopylchak, Assoc. Prof. Yuliya Bondarenko and Assoc. Prof. Lyubov Prokopyshyn-Rashkevych was implementing the international educational project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module 101085171 – EEPHCT – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH “European experience in the promotion of heritage and cultural tourism”.
The Department of Management of Organizations confirms its status as an open educational and scientific center, which is actively integrated into the global educational space, contributes to the formation of modern managerial thinking and prepares competitive specialists for the international labor market.
