Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign trade and Customs Participated in International Symposium on the Role of Universities in Sustainable Regional Development

Mariana Ruda, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign trade and Customs at the Institute of Economics and Management of Lviv Polytechnic National University, participated in the International Scientific Symposium “The Role of University and Research for Sustainable Regional Development” in Białystok, Poland, from April 21–23, within the framework of the Baltic University Programme. This interdisciplinary event brought together participants from 6 countries and 14 higher education institutions at Białystok University of Technology to share their experiences in implementing sustainable development initiatives.

Mariana Ruda presented on the topic “EU Circular Economy: Opportunities and Challenges for Ukraine’s Green Recovery.” A lively discussion also took place during the poster session, focusing on the challenges Ukraine is facing and outlining a green recovery strategy under the motto “build back better, build back greener” in line with the European Green Deal.

The outcomes of the trip are evident: new insights, new connections, and plans for collaboration on joint projects.
