VEZHA is an International Festival of Architecture and Arts, which has already been held in Lviv for the second time. Its visitors and guests from June 28 to July 3 mastered the theme of finding a constructive dialogue (the motto of the fest is «Where? Construction») between different types of art and their creators.
The festival was created last year and dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the first public association of Lviv architects. This year, the festival expanded its time and geographical boundaries, as well as the variety of event venues. The main center of the festival was, as it was the previous year, the Gunpowder Tower – Center for Architecture, Design and Urbanistics. The events of the festival took place, in particular, at the Institute of Architecture at Lviv Polytechnic.
The special guests of the festival – Attilio Terragni, an Italian architect who graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan and teaches there, and Martin Duplantier, a French architect, urbanist and public activist, – delivered the lectures. The lecture by Terragni took place in the main building of Lviv Polytechnic University and was of great interest to our students, as the speaker combines theory and practice and has teaching experience in Australia, Germany and Spain.
