These days, the team of the Project Office, Lviv Polytechnic National University, in cooperation with the FIT-4-NMP project held the first part of an intensive workshop on «Grant Opportunities of the Horizon Europe Program» for more than 30 participants from different institutions.
Only those who offered the organizers a project idea of a scientific and technical direction that meets the priorities of the Horizon Europe program were invited to the online meeting. The program of the event was compiled for such a target audience.
During the workshop, Nazarii Andrushchak, head of the Project Office, acquainted participants with an overview of the priority areas of funding for the Horizon Europe program for Polytechnicians. Mr. Andrushchak spoke about the structure of the program and priorities for funding for 2021-2027, types of actions and projects in the program, the level of technological readiness of an innovative product (TRL - Technology Readiness Levels), the structure of the project application and evaluation criteria. Among the main areas of funding for Horizon Europe, the speaker singled out: research and innovation, networking and coordination of research, support and development of scientific capacity, commercialization of research results and innovation.
Olena Lukachuk, Project Office Specialist, informed the participants of the intensive workshop about the peculiarities of the Funding & Tender Opportunities portal, created by the European Commission to facilitate up-to-date information on open, planned and already funded Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe competitions. Mz. Lukachuk analyzed the procedure for finding a grant program within her specialization, demonstrated how to find and process the necessary information about the selected competition, acquainted with the procedures for finding a partner to participate in the project and register on the Funding & Tender Opportunities portal from the European Commission.
Anna Zmiievska, a representative of the FIT-4-NMP project coordinator, shared with the audience the experience of finding international partners and forming a consortium of project participants. Mz. Zmiievska identified 6 steps that each participant must take. Among them: idea generation, selection of the Competition, description of the idea, promotion of the idea / search for partners / formation of a consortium, preparation and submission of a proposal, and evaluation of the project by experts of the European Commission. The speaker shared her impressions of participating in Info Days and contact events of the European Commission in Brussels and encouraged everyone to participate in such events that will help promote a project idea among potential donors.
All participants were provided with practical recommendations on the procedure for preparing a project application for the Horizon Europe grant program as well as with relevant materials for review.
