The scientific community of our University supports the initiative of our colleague from the National Aerospace University, Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Artificial Intelligence Dmytro Chumachenko, who proposed to appeal to the international scientific community to block funding for Russian science.
Almost a thousand Ukrainian scientists have already signed the document. It states, in particular:
«The Russian Federation has carried out an insidious and absolutely shameful military attack on our country! They destroy residential neighborhoods, kindergartens and hospitals in the heart of Europe with cruise missiles with cluster munitions and vacuum bombs banned in the civilized world. In this situation, the progressive world scientific community must have its say. That's why we really need your support right now».
Among the requirements of Ukrainian scientists there are:
- to block citizens and institutions of the Russian Federation access to all scientometric databases and materials of all scientific publishing houses;
- to prevent the participation of scientists and research institutions of the Russian Federation in international grant programs funded by the EU and other partners;
- to suspend the participation of researchers, students and institutions from the Russian Federation in current programs of international academic mobility;
- to boycott attempts to hold scientific events in the Russian Federation (including scientific conferences, symposiums, etc.);
- to suspend the indexation of scientific publications in all scientometric databases published in the Russian Federation;
- to prohibit the citizens of the Russian Federation to be editors / co-editors / reviewers of international publications.
