The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a self-governing organization of German higher education institutions, which includes more than 200 higher education institutions and more than 100 student organizations in Germany. Founded in 1925, DAAD carries out intermediary functions in the organization of foreign cultural policy, as well as policy in the field of higher education and science.
For 14 years, Ukraine has been actively participating in DAAD programs that provide mobility for students, graduate students and teachers, also providing an opportunity for talented young people of Ukraine to undergo scientific internships or advanced training in Germany.
DAAD offers more than 200 programs and projects, including:
- summer schools (3-4 weeks);
- study tours for student groups to Germany (7-12 days);
- short (1-6 months) and annual scholarships for study and research;
- Master's programs (1-2 years);
- scholarships for university graduates (1-2 years);
- postgraduate studies in Germany (2-4 years);
- internships and exchanges for teachers and researchers (1-3 months);
- guest assistant professorship and professorship programs (1 or more semesters);
- special programs for former DAAD scholarship holders;
- programs to support university projects.
